Beef and Cheese Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (0.45 kg) box of medium shells
  • 1 lb (0.45 kg) ground beef, cooked with garlic powder, dried onion, salt, and pepper to taste (2 teaspoons each)
  • 21.5 oz tomato soup (2 cans)
  • 1 cup (0.24 l) cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup (0.24 l) mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, cook the ground beef in a frying pan with garlic powder, dried onion, salt, and pepper until no longer pink. If using salt and pepper, add them while cooking the beef.
  3. Grease a 9×13 baking dish and pour the cooked noodles into it.
  4. Stir the cooked ground beef and tomato soup with the noodles in the baking dish. Optionally, add ½ cup of water to the mixture for additional moisture.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the casserole and cover with foil.
  6. Bake in a preheated 375 °F (ca. 191 °C) oven for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Optionally, bake under the broiler for 3–5 minutes to brown the cheese.

Note: Dried onion and garlic powder are optional and can be adjusted according to your family’s taste preferences. If you prefer using 2 cups (0.47 l) of a single type of cheese, such as mozzarella, you can do so.
