Beef Steakettes with Onion Gravy

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a big bowl.
  • Stir well until the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  • Split the amalgamation into four equal portions and sculpt each of them into a circular patty shape.
  • Warm a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Next, add the patties and cook them for 3-4 minutes per side or until they are fully cooked and have a browned appearance.
  • Once done, place them on a plate and cover them to retain warmth.
  • In the identical skillet, melt butter over medium heat and then add onions and garlic to sauté.
  • Cook the mixture until they become tender, which should take approximately 5-7 minutes.
  • Scatter the flour on top of the onions and garlic, and blend them together.
  • Keep stirring for roughly 1-2 minutes or until the blend becomes a light brown shade.
  • Slowly incorporate the beef broth into the mixture, stirring constantly to prevent any lumps from forming.
  • After bringing the sauce to a simmer, let it cook for a few minutes until it thickens.
  • Add the heavy cream and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is heated and has thickened to your liking.
  • For a tasty twist on your hamburger steaks, drizzle them with creamy onion gravy and sprinkle with some chopped parsley to add a pop of color and flavor.
