Paprika Potato Chips
Paprika Potato Chips
Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes (preferably russet or Yukon gold)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly and slice them thinly using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife. Try to make the slices as even as possible for consistent cooking.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they don’t overlap.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are crisp and golden brown, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Once done, remove the potato chips from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Enjoy your homemade healthy smoked paprika potato chips as a tasty snack!
Slice Thickness: Aim for uniform slices that are about 1/8 inch thick. Thicker slices will take longer to cook and may not crisp up as well.

- Seasoning Variations: You can customize the seasoning blend to suit your taste. Consider adding other herbs and spices such as onion powder, cayenne pepper for heat, or even a sprinkle of nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.
- Baking Time: Keep an eye on the chips as they bake, especially towards the end of the cooking time. Thin slices may cook faster and could burn if left in the oven too long.
- Storage: Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. If they start to lose their crispiness, you can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to revive them.
- Dipping Sauces: Serve your potato chips with a variety of healthy dipping sauces such as homemade salsa, guacamole, Greek yogurt dip, or hummus for added flavor and nutrition.
- Batch Size: Depending on the size of your baking sheet and oven, you may need to bake the chips in multiple batches to ensure even cooking.
- Experiment: Feel free to experiment with different potato varieties (sweet potatoes, purple potatoes, etc.) or alternative root vegetables like carrots or beets for a unique twist on this recipe.
