1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Glaze:
1/4 cup (60 mL) ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.
Add the bread crumbs, milk, ketchup, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the meatloaf dense.
Shape the Meatloaf:
Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Press it down and shape it into a loaf.
Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the meatloaf is cooked through.
Rest and Serve:
Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute and makes for easier slicing.
Enjoy:
Serve your homemade meatloaf with your favorite sides, like mashed potatoes, green beans, or a fresh salad.
