HOT HONEY CHICKEN TENDERS

Sure, here’s the recipe for hot honey chicken tenders:

Ingredients

– Chicken tenderloins (or chicken breasts sliced into long strips)
– Hot sauce (such as Cholula)
– Buttermilk
– Spices (garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, salt, pepper, or your preferred seasoning)
– Peanut oil, vegetable oil, or canola oil for frying

**Instructions:**

1. **Prepare the Chicken:** If using chicken tenderloins, remove the white tendon attached to them. You can do this by slipping the tendon through a fork and pulling it off using a paper towel. Set aside.

2. **Prepare the Coating:** In a bowl, mix together buttermilk and your chosen spices. Place the chicken in the buttermilk mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.

3. **Coat the Chicken:** In a separate bowl, add flour. Dredge each chicken tender in the flour until it’s completely coated. Shake off any excess flour and set the coated tenders aside on a wire rack.

4. **Fry the Chicken:** Heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the coated chicken tenders to the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for about 3 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. **Make the Hot Honey Sauce:** While the chicken is frying, mix hot sauce with honey in a bowl according to your taste preferences. Adjust the spiciness by adding more hot sauce or cayenne pepper if desired.

6. **Coat the Chicken with Sauce:** Once the chicken tenders are cooked, remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. While still hot, toss the tenders in the hot honey sauce until they’re evenly coated.

7. **Serve:** Arrange the hot honey chicken tenders on a plate and serve immediately. Optionally, serve with extra hot honey sauce on the side for dipping.

8. **Enjoy:** These hot honey chicken tenders are best enjoyed hot and crispy, served with your favorite sides like mac and cheese, coleslaw, or blue cheese dressing.

Feel free to adjust the sauce according to your preferences for sweetness and spiciness. If you prefer, you can also bake the chicken tenders instead of frying them, although frying typically yields a crispier result.
