Soft Homemade Milk Bread (Fluffy & Buttery)

Introduction
This soft milk bread is light, fluffy, and slightly sweet with a golden, shiny crust. Perfect for breakfast, sandwiches, or enjoying warm with butter.

Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 egg
¾ cup warm milk
3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
1 tablespoon milk (for brushing)

Instructions
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast
Add the egg and warm milk, then mix until a dough forms
Knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic
Add softened butter and continue kneading until fully incorporated
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf
Place in a greased loaf pan
Cover and let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes
Brush the top with milk for a golden finish
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown
Let cool slightly before slicing

Method
Kneading develops gluten, giving the bread its soft texture
The double rise ensures a light and airy crumb
Brushing with milk creates a shiny, soft crust

Tips
Use warm milk, not hot, to activate yeast properly
Knead well for best softness
Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh

Enjoy your soft, fluffy homemade milk bread!
