Materials Needed:
- Yarn: White medium-weight (worsted/DK) crochet yarn.
- Finishing Yarn: A small amount of thin black yarn or embroidery floss for the eyes and nose.
- Crochet Hook: Size matched to your yarn (typically 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm).
- Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill.

1. Head and Body (Main Piece)
Worked in continuous spirals from top to bottom:
- Round 1: 6 sc in a Magic Ring (6).
- Round 2: 1 inc in each st around (12).
- Round 3: [1 sc, 1 inc] repeat 6 times (18).
- Round 4: [2 sc, 1 inc] repeat 6 times (24).
- Round 5: [3 sc, 1 inc] repeat 6 times (30).
- Rounds 6–12: 1 sc in each st around (30).
- (Embroider the eyes and nose using black yarn, and add a bit of fiberfill stuffing into the top of the head).
- Round 13: [3 sc, 1 dec] repeat 6 times (24).
- Round 14: [2 sc, 1 dec] repeat 6 times (18).
- Round 15: 1 sc in each st around (18).
- Round 16 (Wavy Skirt Bottom): In the same st: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc). In the next st: (1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc). Sl st in the following st. Repeat this pattern all the way around to create the wavy edge. Fasten off.
2. Ears (Make 2)
- Round 1: 4 sc in a Magic Ring (4).
- Round 2: [1 sc, 1 inc] repeat 2 times (6).
- Round 3: [2 sc, 1 inc] repeat 2 times (8).
- Round 4: 1 sc in each st around (8).
- Leave a yarn tail for sewing, then attach both ears to the top of the head.
3. Wings (Make 2)
- Chain 10.
- Row 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 3 sc, 3 hdc, 3 dc.
- Row 2 (Shaping the border): Work sc around the outer edges of the wing, placing (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) at the outer corner tip to create a pointed shape.
- Leave a tail for sewing and attach one wing to each side of the body.
4. Spiral Tail
To create the tight corkscrew effect:
- Chain 70 to 80 (adjust length to preference).
- Row 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from hook, work 3 sc (or 3 hdc) into every chain stitch. (The strip will automatically curl into a spiral as you work).
- Row 2 (Optional, for thickness): Work 1 sc into each st along the spiral strip.
- Fasten off and sew the top end of the spiral inside the bottom opening of the main body.
5. Assembly & Hanging
- Attach a hanging loop or thin thread to the top of the head.
- Hang the finished project on a garden metal hook or indoor plant stand so it can spin freely in the breeze.
