- Mustard/golden worsted-weight yarn

1. Round Golden Placemat
Center

Build the Circle
Continue working rounds of double crochet, increasing evenly around the circle so the piece remains flat.
For each new round:
- Ch 3
- Work dc stitches around
- Increase regularly by working 2 dc in selected stitches
- Join with a slip stitch
Continue until the circle reaches the desired size.
Final Round
Work 1 round of evenly spaced single crochet around the edge. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Make 3 matching golden circles for the runner.
2. Cream Flower Motif
Make several small flowers using cream yarn.
Center
Make a magic ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, work 11 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st.
Petals
Skip 1 stitch, work 1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc into the next stitch.
Repeat around to create the flower petals.
Join with a slip stitch, fasten off and weave in the end.
Make enough flowers to connect the three circular placemats and create the decorative side edges.
3. Connect the Flowers
Arrange the golden circles in a single line, slightly overlapping the edges as shown in the reference.
Place the cream flowers between and alongside the circles.
Join the flowers together using either slip stitches or small single-crochet joining stitches.
4. Join Flowers to the Circles
Position the flowers around the outer edges of each golden circle.
Using cream yarn, attach selected flower petals to the circle with small slip stitches or single crochet.
Keep the joins neat and discreet so the floral motifs appear naturally connected to the round placemats.
5. Finishing
Lay the complete runner flat and gently block it into shape.
Adjust the flowers so they lie flat and the three golden circles remain perfectly round.
