Arms

Make 2.

With skin color:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2–4: 6 sc

Change to red.

R5–8: 6 sc

Lightly stuff. Flatten and sew the arms to the body so the hands meet at the front.

Angel Wings

Make 2 with cream yarn.

Ch 12.

Starting in second chain from hook:

sc, hdc, dc, dc, tr, tr, dc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st.

Turn and work along the opposite side of the chain in reverse order.

For a more lacy look, work a second round:

ch 3, skip 1 stitch, sl st in next stitch around the wing.

Sew one wing to each side of the body.

Santa Hat

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2–3: 6 sc

Continue increasing gradually until the hat fits the head.

Finish with 2 rounds of white sc.

Make a small white pom-pom and attach it to the tip.

Red & White Spiral Ribbon

This part creates the dramatic spiral effect.

Make one red and one white strip.

Ch 60–80, depending on desired length.

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook and across.

Row 2: ch 3, turn. Work 2 dc in each stitch across.

Row 3: ch 3, turn. Work 2 dc in each stitch again.

The rapid increases will force the crochet strip to curl into a spiral.

For the open lace effect shown in the image, use this variation:

Row 1: dc across.
Row 2: ch 4, skip 1 stitch, dc in next stitch, ch 1 across.
Row 3: Work 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc into each ch-1 space.

Make the red and white spirals separately, then twist them gently around each other.

Crochet Star

With cream yarn:

Start with MR.

Work:

*sc, hdc, dc, ch 2, sl st in second ch from hook, dc, hdc, sc* ×5.

Pull MR closed.

You will have 5 points.

Crochet Heart

With red yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc ×6 [12]
R3: (sc, inc) ×6 [18]

Make a second identical cup.

Join the two cups together and crochet around both.

Continue:

R4–5: 30 sc
R6: (3 sc, dec) ×6 [24]
R7: (2 sc, dec) ×6 [18]
R8: (sc, dec) ×6 [12]

Stuff.

R9: dec ×6 [6]

Fasten off.

Snowflake

With white yarn:

MR, ch 3.

Repeat 6 times:

dc, ch 5, sl st in second ch from hook, ch 3, sl st in same base, ch 3, sl st in same base, ch 2, dc.

Finish with sl st and block the snowflake into shape.

Assembly

Attach the wooden ring above the angel. Run a strong red cord vertically through the center of the entire decoration. Attach the angel first, then twist the red and white crochet spirals around the central cord.

Hang the motifs in this order:

Angel → Star → Heart → Snowflake → Pearl → Jingle Bell

Adjust the spiral by hand so it forms smooth, balanced curves around each motif.

For the closest look to the image, use fine cotton yarn and a 2 mm hook, because it gives the spiral that clean, delicate lace appearance.
