Easy Crochet Pumpkin Pattern

Materials:
Orange yarn, brown yarn, 4–5 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, fiberfill stuffing, scissors.

Abbreviations:
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
BLO = Back Loop Only
SL ST = Slip Stitch

Pumpkin Body

  1. CH 26 or enough chains to reach the desired pumpkin height.
  2. Row 1: SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and across.
  3. Row 2: CH 1, turn. SC BLO across.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the rectangle is about 45–50 cm long. The BLO stitches create the vertical ribbed texture.
  5. Fold the rectangle with the short edges together and sew or slip stitch them to form a tube.
  6. Using a yarn needle, weave around one open edge and pull tightly to close.
  7. Fill firmly with fiberfill.
  8. Gather the second opening and pull tightly closed.
  9. Pass a long strand of yarn from the top through the center to the bottom several times, pulling gently to flatten the pumpkin and create a rounded shape.

Stem

  1. With brown yarn, CH 7.
  2. SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and across.
  3. Make 3–4 rows of SC.
  4. Roll the small rectangle into a stem and sew it closed.
  5. Attach firmly to the center top of the pumpkin.
