Part 1: Crochet Snowflake Center

Round 1 – White yarn

Make a magic ring.

CH 3 (counts as DC), work 11 DC into the ring.

Join with SL ST into the top of CH 3.

Total: 12 DC.

Round 2 – Creating six sections

CH 3, DC in same stitch, CH 3.

Skip 1 stitch.

Repeat (2 DC in next stitch, CH 3, skip 1 stitch) around.

Join with SL ST.

You should have 6 groups of DC and 6 chain spaces.

Round 3 – Snowflake petals

In each CH-3 space work:

SC, HDC, 2 DC, TR, CH 2, TR, 2 DC, HDC, SC.

Repeat in all six spaces.

Join with SL ST.

This creates six pointed petals.

Part 2: Blue Snowflake Border

Attach light blue yarn at the base of one petal.

Work SC evenly around the snowflake.

At each petal tip, crochet (SC, CH 2, SC) to create a sharp point.

Between petals, work SL ST into the valley to define the snowflake shape.

Continue around all six petals and fasten off.

Part 3: Decorative Crystal Beads

Sew a silver rhinestone or decorative button into the center.

Attach small transparent beads to the six outer points.

Add crystal teardrop charms to the lower points using short strands of thread or small chain loops.

Secure each charm firmly.

Part 4: Crochet Spiral

Using light blue yarn:

  • CH 35.
  • Work 3 SC into the second chain from the hook.
  • Continue working 3 SC into every chain across.
  • The strip will naturally curl into a spiral.
  • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Attach the spiral to the bottom center of the snowflake.

For a longer spiral, start with CH 45–50.

Part 5: Bottom Tassel

Wrap light blue yarn around a small piece of cardboard approximately 12–15 times.

Tie the top securely and cut the bottom loops.

Wrap another strand around the upper section to form the tassel head.

Attach the tassel to the bottom of the spiral.

Add a small decorative bead above the tassel if desired.

Part 6: Hanging Loop

CH 45 with light blue yarn.

Join the ends to create a hanging loop.

Sew it securely to the top point of the snowflake.

Finishing

Lightly dampen the snowflake and pin all six points into a symmetrical shape.

Apply fabric stiffener if you want a firm, crisp ornament.

Allow it to dry completely before hanging.

Finished size: Approximately 25–35 cm long, including the spiral and tassel, depending on yarn, hook size, and tension.

The result is a delicate white-and-blue crochet snowflake ornament, ideal for Christmas trees, winter window decorations, and handmade holiday gifts.
