Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Bombs
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or crescent dough)
- 12 soft caramel candies (or caramel sauce, thick)
For Coating
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
1. Make the Apple Filling
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add diced apples and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Mix cornstarch with water, add to the pan, and cook until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let cool completely.
2. Prepare the Dough
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Separate biscuit dough and flatten each piece into a circle.
3. Assemble the Bombs
Place 1 tablespoon apple filling in the center of each dough circle.
Add 1 caramel candy (or 1 teaspoon thick caramel sauce).
Carefully wrap the dough around the filling, pinching edges tightly to seal.
4. Bake
Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
5. Cinnamon Sugar Finish
Brush warm bombs with melted butter.
Roll in cinnamon sugar until fully coated.
