Black Crochet Dragon Amigurumi

Materials:
Black yarn, gray yarn, small amount of white yarn, 3–4 mm crochet hook, fiberfill, safety eyes, yarn needle, stitch marker, scissors.

Abbreviations:
MR = magic ring
sc = single crochet
inc = increase
dec = decrease
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
st = stitch

Head

With black yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc around = 12
R3: 1 sc, inc around = 18
R4: 2 sc, inc around = 24
R5: 3 sc, inc around = 30
R6: 4 sc, inc around = 36
R7–14: sc around
Insert the safety eyes between rounds 9–10.

R15: 4 sc, dec around
R16: 3 sc, dec around
Stuff firmly.
R17: 2 sc, dec around
R18: 1 sc, dec around
Close.

Snout

With black yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc around = 12
R3: 1 sc, inc = 18
R4–6: sc around
Stuff lightly and sew to the front of the head.

Make 2 small gray nostrils and sew them onto the snout. Embroider the smile with white yarn.

Body

With black yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc around = 12
R3: 1 sc, inc = 18
R4: 2 sc, inc = 24
R5: 3 sc, inc = 30
R6: 4 sc, inc = 36
R7–14: sc around
R15: 4 sc, dec
R16: 3 sc, dec
R17: 2 sc, dec
Stuff firmly and close.

Sew the head securely to the body.

Arms – Make 2

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc around = 12
R3–10: sc around
Stuff lightly, flatten the top, and sew to the sides of the body.

Legs – Make 2

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc around = 12
R3: 1 sc, inc = 18
R4–7: sc around
Stuff firmly and sew near the bottom of the body.

Ears – Make 2

With black yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: 1 sc, inc = 9
R3–5: sc around

Flatten slightly and sew to each side of the head.

Horns – Make 2

With gray yarn:

R1: 4 sc in MR
R2: sc around
R3: 1 sc, inc = 6
R4: sc around
R5: 2 sc, inc = 8
R6–9: sc around

Stuff lightly and sew to the top of the head.

Back Spikes

With gray yarn, make several small cones in different sizes.

Start with 4–6 sc in a magic ring and gradually increase for 3–5 rounds.

Sew them in a straight line from the top of the head down the back and along the tail.

Tail

With black yarn:

R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: 1 sc, inc = 9
R3: sc around
R4: 2 sc, inc = 12
Continue working evenly for about 20–25 rounds, gradually adding a few increases near the base.

Stuff lightly as you go. Sew the wider end securely to the lower back.

Finishing

Shape the head and body with your hands, make sure the horns and spikes are symmetrical, and weave in all yarn ends.

For the same look as the image, use a deep black body with soft gray horns and back spikes, large glossy eyes, and a small white embroidered smile.
