4. Large bow

Make a striped rectangle, working in rows.

Rows 2–7: Ch 1, turn, sc across.

Change to green.

Rows 8–9: Ch 1, turn, sc across.

Join green along the foundation edge and work two rows of sc there as well. This creates a green stripe along both long edges.

With gold, sc evenly around the rectangle, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join and fasten off.

Fold the rectangle so its short ends meet. Sew the short ends together to form a loop. Flatten with the seam centered at the back. Pinch the middle and wrap tightly with red yarn to form two bow loops.

Rows 2–4: Ch 1, turn, sc across.

Fasten off.

Join green and sc around each tail, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join and fasten off.

Add a gold round in the same way. Leave a long sewing tail. Slightly fold one short end of each strip when attaching it beneath the bow.

6. Hanging loop and assembly

  1. Sew the two tails behind the bow’s center, angling them outward.
  2. Sew the bow securely to the top of the red bell body.
  3. Stitch three gold beads vertically over the bow’s center.
  4. Attach a doubled strand of yarn inside the bell’s top. Run it down through the body and secure the jingle bell just below the scalloped edge.
  5. With gold, ch 35–45 and sl st into the first chain to form a hanging loop. Fasten off and sew both ends securely behind the bow.
  6. Weave in all ends.

Finishing: Lightly dampen the crochet and shape the bell over a small cone covered in plastic. Shape the bow and tails separately. Let everything dry completely; use fabric stiffener if you want a firmer ornament.
