Materials
- Worsted or medium-weight yarn in green, red, and white
- Crochet hook suitable for your yarn
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Small red yarn for berries

Main Spiral
Foundation
- Chain 25–30 stitches.
- Work 2–3 double crochet stitches into the same stitch.
- Continue working increasing stitches along the chain to create a naturally curling strip.
- Continue with the chosen color until the strip reaches the desired length.
- The increases create the spiral shape as the crochet piece twists and curls.
Red & White Christmas Spiral
- Work the main spiral in red.
- Add several rows or sections of white stitches through the center.
- Alternate red and white sections to create the candy-cane effect.
- Shape the finished strip into a long spiral and secure the top and bottom.
Green Holly Spiral
- Crochet the spiral entirely in dark green.
- Attach small crocheted red berries at several points along the spiral.
- Add small green leaves beside each berry cluster.
Hanging Loop
At the top:
- Chain 15–20 stitches.
- Slip stitch back into the base.
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Finishing
Gently stretch and shape the spiral so the curves are even. Add snowflake charms and beads to the white version, or berries and leaves to the green version.
Tip: Keep the increases consistent throughout the strip. More increases create a wider, more dramatic spiral; fewer increases produce a tighter curl.
