Star Center
Start with white yarn.
Make a magic ring.
Round 1: Crochet 10–12 double crochets into the magic ring. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 2: Work groups of stitches around the center to create a small textured, flower-like motif. Keep the stitches evenly spaced.
Round 3: Continue around the motif, forming the five points of the star. At each point, work several stitches into the same space to create a sharp tip.
Round 4: Crochet around the entire star with single crochet stitches, increasing at the points so the five-point shape remains clearly defined.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Decorative Border
Attach contrasting yarn around the outer edge.
For the green version, use green yarn.
For the red version, use red yarn.
For the silver version, use metallic silver yarn.
Work single crochet stitches evenly around the entire star. At each point, place 2–3 stitches in the tip space to keep the points sharp.
Join with a slip stitch and fasten off.
Hanging Loop
Attach white yarn to the top point of the star.
Chain approximately 20–25 stitches.

Jingle Bells

Finishing
