Materials:
Medium cotton/acrylic yarn in emerald green, ivory, burgundy red, white/cream, and gold, 3–3.5 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, small beads, jingle bells, and a hanging loop.
Abbreviations:
CH = chain
SC = single crochet
HDC = half double crochet
DC = double crochet
SL ST = slip stitch
INC = 2 stitches in the same stitch
Spiral Ribbon:
CH 75–90 depending on desired length.
Row 1: Work 3 DC in each chain across. The piece will naturally curl into a spiral.
Row 2: Add a contrasting border with SC or SL ST along the outer edge. For a fuller spiral, work occasional increases along the edge.
Santa Version:
Make the spiral in emerald green with cream edging. Crochet a small round Santa face, add a white beard, red nose, black eyes, and a green Santa hat with white trim. Sew the Santa head securely to the top of the spiral. Embroider small white snowflakes along the ribbon.
Christmas Tree Version:
Make the spiral in ivory and finish the edge with gold yarn. Crochet a small layered Christmas tree using increasing rows of SC/HDC/DC. Add a gold star at the top and decorate with small beads or gold thread.
Snowman Version:
Make the spiral in burgundy red with cream edging. Crochet a round white snowman head, add black eyes, an orange nose, rosy cheeks, and a red top hat. Add a matching scarf and embroidered snowflakes.
Finishing:
Thread decorative beads through the center of each spiral, attach 2 small bells or baubles at the bottom, weave in all ends, and add a strong hanging loop at the top.
