Crochet Floral Table Runner

Finished look: Long rectangular table runner with 5 large floral motifs, diamond-shaped brown frames, cream lace side panels, and a decorative picot border.

Materials

  • Cotton yarn, medium/fine weight:
    • Cream / ivory
    • Warm brown
  • Crochet hook: 3.0–3.5 mm
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations

ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet, sp = space.

1. Large Flower Motif

With brown yarn, make a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, work 23 dc into the ring. Join with sl st.
Round 2: Ch 5, skip 2 sts, sl st in next st. Repeat around to create the petal bases.
Round 3: Change to cream. In each ch-5 space work: 1 sc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, 1 sc. Repeat around to form 8 large petals.
Round 4: With brown, crochet behind the petals using chains and sc to create a raised brown ring around the flower.

2. Diamond Frame

Using brown yarn, work around each flower:

Round 1: Create four corners with (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc).
Between corners, work dc groups evenly around the flower.

Rounds 2–4: Continue increasing at each corner while keeping the motif square/diamond shaped. Finish with a firm sc border.

Make 5 matching flower diamonds.

3. Join the Motifs

Position all five motifs point-to-point in one long row.

Join neighboring diamonds with slip stitches or single crochet along the touching edges. Keep all flowers centered and facing the same direction.

4. Cream Lace Side Panels

Attach cream yarn along one long side.

Work repeated mesh sections:

Row 1: Ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next st. Repeat.
Row 2: Work dc and chain spaces into the previous mesh.
Continue increasing near the outer points to create the wide decorative lace shape shown in the photo.

Repeat identically on the opposite side.

5. Decorative Fan Sections

At the outer points, work cream fan shells such as:

(2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc) into the same space.

Separate each fan with chain spaces. This creates the large scalloped floral appearance along both sides.

6. Brown Edging

Join brown yarn around the entire runner.

Work one round of sc, then finish with:

*sc, ch 3, sl st into first ch, skip 1–2 sts*

Repeat around for a small picot-style border.

Finishing

Weave in all ends and gently block the runner flat, stretching the lace evenly so the diamonds, flowers, and scalloped edges remain symmetrical.

Note: This is a recreated pattern based on the visible design, so exact stitch counts may need slight adjustment depending on your yarn and desired size.
