Green & White Crochet Christmas Spiral Ornament

Materials:
Green and white cotton yarn, 2.5–3 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, small red beads or berries, gold beads, optional stuffing for mini baubles.

ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet.

Main Spiral

With green yarn:

Row 1: Ch 140–160, depending on how long you want the ornament.

Row 2: Work 3 dc into each chain across. The crochet strip will automatically begin to curl into a spiral.

Fasten off.

Join white yarn along one edge of the green spiral.

White edging:
1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in next stitch — repeat along the entire edge to create the small white ruffled border.

Gently twist and shape the strip into a long, even helix.

Crochet Snowflakes

With white yarn:

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, work 12 sc into ring, join.

Round 2:
Ch 6, sl st into 2nd ch, ch 3, sl st back into same chain, ch 3, sl st back again, sl st down remaining chains, sl st into next 2 stitches.

Repeat around to create 6 snowflake arms.

Fasten off and block each snowflake flat.

Make approximately 6–8 snowflakes.

Mini Crochet Stars ⭐

With green yarn:

Magic ring.

Repeat 5 times:

Ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch, sc in next, hdc in next, dc in next, sl st into magic ring.

Pull ring tight and fasten off.

Mini Crochet Baubles

Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc.
Round 2: 2 sc in each st = 12.
Rounds 3–5: 12 sc around.
Lightly stuff.

Round 6: sc2tog around.
Close and attach a small gold bead at the top.

Holly Leaves & Berries

For each leaf:

Ch 8.

Work along the chain:
sl st, sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc.

Work the same sequence along the opposite side of the chain.

For the berries, use 3 small red beads or crochet tiny red balls and sew them beside the leaves.

Assembly

Hang the green-and-white spiral vertically and distribute the decorations evenly along the coils.

Attach:

  • White snowflakes
  • Green stars
  • Green mini baubles
  • Red berry clusters
  • Small gold beads

Use short pieces of yarn so some decorations hang freely between the spiral turns.

Finish the bottom with a green crochet star and round bauble for a balanced final look.

Tip: Lightly steam-block the spiral and snowflakes before assembling so the helix stays smooth and the snowflakes keep their shape.
