Step-by-Step Instructions
Round 1 – Center Ring
Make a magic ring. CH 3 (counts as DC), work 15 DC into the ring. Join with SL ST. (16 DC)
Round 2 – Open Circular Center
CH 5 (counts as DC + CH 2). Skip the next stitch, DC in the following stitch, CH 2. Repeat around and join.
Round 3 – Radiating Lace
Work 3 DC into each CH-2 space, separated by CH 1. Join to complete the circular lace.
Round 4 – Raised Circular Border
Work DC stitches evenly around the center, adding stitches as needed to keep the circle flat.
Round 5 – Flower Petal Foundation
Divide the circular motif into eight equal sections. Create CH-5 loops between the sections.
Round 6 – Decorative Petals
In selected loops, work (SC, 3 DC, 3 TR, 3 DC, SC) to create raised petals. Leave the remaining loops available for the lace mesh.
Round 7 – Open Mesh
Work CH-5 arches around the petals, anchoring each arch with SC. Adjust the chain lengths to maintain a flat shape.
Round 8 – Square Formation
Mark four equally spaced corner positions. Continue the chain mesh, forming each corner with (CH 5, SC, CH 7, SC, CH 5) into suitable spaces.
Round 9 – Lace Edging
Continue the open mesh along all four sides. Work additional chain arches at each corner to create the pointed diamond-square silhouette.
Round 10 – Final Border
Work SC along the outer edges, with small picots at the four corners. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Finishing
Gently wet-block the square, pinning the four corners into shape. Allow it to dry completely.
Finished size: Approximately 15–20 cm, depending on yarn, hook size, and tension.
Crochet Tip: Make several matching squares and join them to create an elegant table runner, decorative bedspread, or lace tablecloth.
